While Colorado teacher Steve Margolin was traveling through Europe one
summer, he noticed that he kept using the same few phrases from his
large travel dictionary over and over. So he hit on the idea of having
those phrases printed on the side of a Nalgene water bottle. Bottles in
Translation are available in English-Spanish, English-French and
English-Italian versions with more than 100 of the most commonly used
travel words and phrases on each. The 32-ounce bottles are also offered
in several colors. You can purchase them from Margolin's Web site, www.bottlesintranslation.com, or call (303) 588-1709.
Mini-binoculars
The travel mavens at National Geographic have a new set of handy
binoculars for birders and others on the go. They weigh just 6½ ounces,
are rubber coated to be waterproof and fogproof and have an excellent
field of view of 392 feet at 1,000 yards. They come with a soft
carrying case and, as a bonus, National Geographic's Bird Migration
wall map, so you can pick out your next ornithological destination. To
order, call (888) 225-5647 or go to www.ShopNG.org.
